ABI has a large community services team in Auckland and recently made the shift across central Auckland from Grafton to Epsom.
The team had been at Grafton, across the road from Auckland Hospital for over 10 years but due to growth in the team and the number of services on offer, a new site was needed.
When ABI first started at Grafton the community team were less than 10 staff, now the team based here is over 50!
ABI has three community branches in Auckland at NorthWest Shopping Centre, Botany Junction and now Epsom.
The Epsom site has recently been blessed and will have an official opening once COVID-19 restrictions ease. ABI Chaplain, Bruce, was joined by some members of the team for a blessing of the office space recently prior to clients being seen here.
The new site is almost twice the size of the old Grafton site and further refurbishments are underway to improve the reception area for visiting clients, creating a rehabilitation gym and providing more clinical consulting rooms for the Doctors and Psychologists. The site is easily accessible from the motorway and has plenty of off-street parking.
The office is open and operating with reduced staff currently. The majority of community clients are still being seen by telerehabilitation due to the current Omicron wave in Auckland.
As New Zealand moves towards restrictions easing, the team are looking forward to being able to connect with one another and utilise the lovely new space to its full potential.
